Orgelkonzert ‘Bach’ is a concerto for organ with choir. So far only movement 3 has been completed.

  • Movement 1 – no toccata and fugue – shows resemblances to Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565. This it totally unfinished and will be worked on soon. Expect a demo next year (if it all).
  • Movement 2 – the cross shows the path – is the slow movement with a pleasing theme in the center and often climaxing. With each second spent we depart further from Bach.
  • Movement 3 – the black mass – is something that Bach would have never have written. Totally fine – for me. It contains a nice resolution: the best way to end a quasi-religious work. Bach, a believer. The black mass takes another angle at such believers. Dear Bach, don’t be mad at me. Oh, I’m trying so hard, I wanna be a good boy. But I can’t. I won’t.

log

  • 01.04.2020: demo of movement 2 was finished.
  • 19.11.2019: movement 3 was completed.
  • 12.09.2019: added demo of movement 3.

All songs here are old and do not belong to any major work. There are many good ideas here, but it’s a hit and miss really, they are poorly mixed and totally unfinished, meaning bad sound, bad structure, bad bad – simply. #13, #22, #23 and #67 were partly reworked and are present here in their latest form. Some of those that have YouTube links are really cool and fun, for instance #41 or #44. Possibly, they all could be reworked some time this century.

I reworked the music of blood 1 between 2007 and 2008 and completed the final version for that time. And yes, I called it rearranged back then, but this is of course no rearrangement in the traditional, ordinary sense. Still, the compositions are so damn good and most parts were already for orchestra, so I edited the files in order to improve the sound and had not much to compose, but it took a long time to change it so that it is pleasing to me: events such as note velocities or track volumes have been adjusted accordingly. Instruments like the timpani have been added to many tracks to create richer orchestral sound. And much more, but there’s hardly anything new, it’s just more orchestral.

Quite some minor corrections to my arrangements and soundfonts are needed, but all midi files were lost because of human mistake (the arrangements are still there) so I am not up to redo everything again. This project shall therefore be deemed completed.
Addendum 2018: I discovered the old midi files on a backup CD. So this project is on my to-do list again. I will do a lot more next time. Release: when it’s done.

Many thanks to the gifted Guy Whitmore, Daniel Bernstein and Mike Cody, they have masterly composed the music for the blood series. The owner of rights is probably Monolith/GT-Interactive/Atari and whatever follows. This is a cover, the original rights are retained. I abstain from all my rights as deemed necessary.
